Agency Group Launches New Meetings & Incentive Travel Unit

The American Marketing Group, the parent company of TRAVELSAVERS, with 3,000 independently owned agencies, has launched the Acclaim Meetings Program to assist agents in winning meetings and incentive travel business. The initiative provides independent travel agencies with the end-to-end education and tools they need to capture the lucrative meetings and incentives business.

“The meeting and incentives niche is growing rapidly,” said Jim Mazza, COO of American Marketing Group.  “Consider, for instance, that many meeting planners are not experts in destinations and they’re turning to travel agencies for help. There is a tremendous opportunity here for travel agencies to generate entirely new revenue streams for their businesses, especially with small to mid-sized meetings and groups.  Now is the time to seize this niche."

Acclaim Meetings offers the training and products to help travel agencies begin or increase their meeting and incentives planning services, Mazza says. The program works as well for agencies planning leisure groups as it does for corporate meetings.  “On the leisure side, it’s all about perks," Mazza said. "We can provide discounted room blocks, and all sorts of other benefits for groups traveling together. We encourage travel agencies to consider how they might begin booking travel for religious groups, family reunions, teachers and volunteers, for example.”
