Holland America Puts Three Ships in South America for 2009

Holland America Line will operate a total of 18 South America and Antarctica cruises in 2009, on its Statendam, Prinsendam and Amsterdam ships. The diverse itineraries range from 13 to 68 days long and visit such places as the Chilean fjords and glaciers, Deception Island in Antarctica, Machu Picchu in Peru and Christ the Redeemer monument in Rio de Janeiro. "By having three ships in South America for 2009, we are able to offer the most extensive program in the region of any major cruise line," said Rick Meadows, Holland America's executive vice president, marketing sales and guest programs.
