African Safari Follows President-Elect's Ancestry

Whether they voted for Barack Obama or not, your clients have a travel opportunity to get to know the President-elect a little better. Shortly after the election ended Tuesday, New York City-based 2AFRIKA, INC. announced an 11-day presidential heritage safari to its portfolio.

The safari will depart daily from the U.S, bound for Lake Nakuru National Park, Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Mt. Kenya Forest and Nairobi for a fully-inclusive game safari before heading northwest to the city of Kisumu, which is right on the shores of Lake Victoria and steps away from the birthplace of Obama's father in 1936.

During a two-night stay in Kisumu, travelers will visit the village of Kogelo (the final resting place of Obama's father and the home of his extended family), drive to the shore of Lake Victoria, visit the Kisumu Museum and the city, and visit a Luo ethnic group village to learn more of the cultural heritage of the President-elect.

The air-inclusive package starts at $2,999 per person plus tax and includes seven safari activities, national park entrance fees, 21 Meals, and other amenities.
