The Puerto Rico Convention Bureau’s Annual Membership meeting recently concluded in San Juan and with it came news of yet another successful year for the destination. During the 2007-2008 fiscal year, the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau (PRCB) confirmed a total of 461 definite group bookings for a total of 236,017 overall room nights, an increase of 20 percent over last year.

In addition, the Bureau generated 1,060 leads in the 2007-2008 fiscal year, representing a total of 821,980 future potential room night bookings for the island. The PRCB also provided 1,456 group lead referrals to non-hotel member-suppliers, representing more than $8 million in potential revenue. These overall results represent an estimated infusion of $110 million into the island's economic development.

During this year, the Bureau welcomed 102,770 delegates, with 476 groups visiting the island as a result of the organization's promotional, sales and booking efforts, resulting in 255,020 total room nights. In addition, the PRCB assisted, through their services department, 1,945 groups serving as a liaison between member-suppliers and meeting planners, providing destination information, promotional materials and more.
