Mandarin Oriental Setting Flag in Moscow

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced it will manage a luxury property in Moscow, which will open in 2011. The hotel will be located on Tverskaya Street, only minutes from Moscow's Red Square, the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral. The hotel itself will be a redevelopment of a historic building, which was originally constructed in the early 19th century.

The property will include 237 guest rooms, 66 of which will be suites, and feature a "classic, but contemporary interior style." The hotel will also house a spa, indoor swimming pool, an expanse of luxury retail shopping and a variety of restaurants and bars.

"Moscow is fast becoming one of the world’s most important business and leisure destinations," said Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s CEO, Edouard Ettedgui. "It represents a significant step in our strategy to establish our brand firmly in the world’s most important destinations.”
